KOCHI : Moses HM, a former Indian Air Force (IAF) veteran and United Nations (UN) official, is set to contest as the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate for the Ernakulam Legislative Assembly constituency.

Having served as a Warrant Officer in the IAF, he enters the political fray with a distinguished background of discipline and integrity. Currently serving as the State Vice President of the Aam Aadmi Party Kerala, he has also held key organizational roles, including State Treasurer and Ernakulam District Executive Member.

Bringing a wealth of international experience, Moses HM has served in various countries as part of the United Nations missions. Having closely observed global governance systems and successful development models during his UN tenure, he aims to implement world-class administrative standards and transparency in Ernakulam. His official background with the UN is expected to provide a significant boost in envisioning and executing modern urban solutions for the constituency.

The candidate highlighted that the primary reason for the long-standing developmental stagnation in Ernakulam is deep-rooted political corruption. He emphasized that a sustainable transformation can only be achieved through a staunch anti-corruption stance. Following the declaration of his candidacy, Moses HM stated that his objective is to replicate the welfare-oriented governance models successfully implemented by the Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi and Punjab, ensuring that government services reach the doorsteps of the citizens.

Addressing the critical issues of Kochi, Moses HM pledged to prioritize a permanent solution for the city's severe waterlogging and to establish modern, scientific waste management systems. Drawing inspiration from the urban planning strategies he encountered during his international service, he plans to overhaul the local infrastructure. He also proposed a comprehensive modernization of public transport to alleviate traffic congestion and transform Ernakulam into a truly global city.

Furthermore, he committed to enhancing the quality of life for the common man by providing world-class education and healthcare facilities. By establishing 'Mohalla Clinics' on the Delhi model, he aims to ensure free and high-quality medical treatment for all residents. Moses HM's vision underscores a commitment to upgrading government schools to international standards and fostering a new political culture that is transparent, corruption-free, and people-centric.
